Originally we sourced a 15 year old Pu’ Er. We then discovered this 11 year old which in our humble opinion is better.
At first sight you will be struck by the quite enormous leaves.
The liquor ranges from burnt oranges to deep reds, often with a quite brilliant purple hue. The smell is smoky and earthy.
To taste, a poor Pu’ Er seems mouldy and damp. Dry, clean and woody, this is a fine example. We particularly recommend this to whisky drinkers.
Smooth, surprisingly mild and clean. An elegant evening drink.
The Pu’ Er is simply amazing….. I did enjoy it together with Jane Pettigrew (Director of the UK Tea Academy). Amazing rich but sweet aroma and flavour…and aftertaste….. It was a real magic moment!
